This is where your sewing story begins, and I'm here to help you write every stitch of it.
Have you ever worried about choosing the right creative path, whether for yourself or your child?
- What if my child loses interest after I've paid?
- Am I too old to start something new?
- Is this just another hobby we'll abandon?
- Will this actually build skills that last?
I see the creativity in you, even when you can’t see it yourself…
I see potential where others see problems. If you're worried you or your child are "not the crafty type" or "too old to learn," you're exactly who I love teaching.
My systematic approach works for analytical minds, creative spirits, and everyone in between. I don't just teach techniques: I build confidence, one successful project at a time.
How it all started
After everyone was asleep, my mom would quietly transform our kitchen into her sewing sanctuary. The gentle hum of her needle would drift through the house, calling to me like a lullaby.
Night after night, I'd tiptoe downstairs and sit beside her, mesmerized as fabric came to life under her hands. It was there, in that makeshift studio, that my passion for this beautiful art was born.
That childhood wonder carried me through my journey: earning my degree in Apparel Design & Technology, networking in New York's vibrant fashion world, and eventually creating Sew Simple Sewing.
My path has evolved, but the joy I felt in those quiet kitchen sessions remains unchanged.
The magic happens when you stop fearing the "mistake" and start embracing the journey.
Here's what I learned along the way that changes everything for my students:
Sewing isn't about perfection; it's about progress.
Those "mistakes" that make people want to quit? They're actually the fastest path to real skill.
I've watched countless students transform from "I could never do this" to "I can't believe I made this myself" because I know exactly where they'll struggle and how to guide them through it.
My promise to every student
You'll never feel rushed, judged, or left behind.
Whether you're 7 or 70, whether you learn fast or need extra time, I meet you where you are and guide you to where you want to be. Every student gets the same patient, encouraging instruction that helps them discover their own creative voice.
Today, every time I teach, I'm transported back to those precious nights with my mother.
And now I get to create that same sense of wonder and possibility for you—because everyone deserves to experience the magic of creating something beautiful with their own hands.
